Human Resources Manager
In partnership with Controller, oversee the development and implementation of human resources and safety policies, programs and services including recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, employee communications and employee events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
Enhance and enforce human resources and safety policies and procedures.
Manage the human resources information systems for critical analyses of the people resources of the corporation.
Maintain credibility and successfully resolve human relation issues. Act as company representative in employee and union relations. Bargaining units’ contact regarding contract issues, grievance issues, etc.
Develop and coordinate Company policies and objectives.
Serve as Plan Administrator for 401k plan.
Participate on a team responsible for employee benefit programs including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, supplemental plans, 401K plan, pension plan looking for cost effectiveness in plan, cost reduction in plans, and regulatory compliance.
Advise management regarding all employee terminations, oversee all aspects of employee terminations.
Manage budget and control expenses effectively.
Assist operations and functional managers in hiring, training, developing, and appraising staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with Company policy.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws.
Continue improving programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic, operational and staffing issues of the organization.
Human Resources Generalist (part-time)

Administration experience in MS Office.
Strong organization, communication and planning skills.
Proactive, customer service-oriented approach to problem solving and troubleshooting.
Self-motivated, self-directed, team-oriented.
Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships
Ability to meet deadlines and accomplish work in order of priority
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree preferred (or relevant professional experience)
3-5 years applicable work experience in Human Resources
2-3 years in a Human Resources leadership position preferred
Union environment experience preferred
